Getting Easier

February 20th, 2015 at 04:35 pm

Strangely enough, once I wrote about my mini-goal lesson mid-week, I haven't made nearly as many excuses. I think actually only one since the last post.

And that was for going out and buying a new high chair/booster seat. My littlest is approaching solid foods fast. Plus, he doesn't like sitting in his bouncy while we eat (wants to sit on one of our laps), so I was thinking we need to include him at the table. Luckily I stopped myself before running out to the nearest store and picking something up. He's really not ready, and won't be for a few weeks.

Small win, but very satisfying. I think this mini-goal was one of the best things I could have done in order to stop the out-pour of money. I'm proud of myself, a feeling I haven't had in awhile. No money out since I started the mini-goal besides that tank of gas I knew I needed. :-)

If it helps any, my DIL regrets ever getting a high chair because they didn't use it. Found the booster seat much more practical.

We used our high chair all the time. Even before our kids were on solids, they sat at the table with us during meals in a high chair. Of course we didn't have to buy ours so that made a difference. It was a shower gift with my first child. They liked it because they were up with us instead of on the floor.

I wonder if you'd consider calling the Consignment store that re-sells high quality equipment for tots like high chairs/booster seats, car seats, bouncy chairs etc. that meet current code. There is some level of savings if you can tolerate the idea of pre-owned. I see these items listed on Facebook sale page, CraigsList and electronic sellers but they have potential to be out-of-date/code

Sometimes taking things in small bits is easier! Congrats!
