Welcome! One foot in front of the other. While its not perfect, at least you and your DH have jobs and income and are stable - so you have two feet at least. Smile I'm sure your mom and dad share in your dreams of setting out on your own. Is it possible to begin to save a few dollars/week, increasing it as you go? Your goal is to save/week what the going rents are.

Welcome! I hope you enjoy the adventure of putting together a life with your beloved, where ever that should happen. Smile

I can relate to living with parents. We lived with my husband's mother ofr several years. We weren't free to even argue alone. It was very frustrating. But hang in there...just remember what your goal is and you will make it.

    Thanks for the welcome, everyone!

@baselle - You are completely right. I do have two feet. :-) Sometimes, when I start feeling stuck, I forget how very lucky we are. I am so very thankful for my parents and how they are so willingly helping us out. I need to remind myself more often to count my blessings and not dwell on the negatives. Hmmm... that might have to be one of my goals for the year. :-D

@north georgia gal - Did you have a specific goal when you were living with his mother? Or was it a vague someday goal? I think my biggest problem is the vague someday. It's so much easier to have a specific goal to work towards, but every time I set something, the variables change on me. How did you deal with it?

Welcome! I'm in a similar situation to you just now: we got married last year and have been living with DH's family since then. I was hoping we would have been out of here by now. Anyway, I look forward to reading your blog Smile
