My husband hands out the checks, so I know I will get his or he will deposit it! I used to love paydays too at your age. I still love them now, but it is not the same as every spare cent goes to retirement savings.
I hope you have started a Roth or something. Even if you do a minimum amount now, you will be so much better off. You don't have to contribute every year. Just stick $1000.00 into somewhere and let it grow.
I used to love payday until I became in charge of payroll for the company I work for. It's really not as much fun anymore when it's your job to make it happen.
I still play with the numbers in the spreadsheets though.
I do payroll at my company too. It's a tough job and takes the glamour out of getting a paycheck. And I think that's why getting my husband's paycheck is kind of like christmas. You know something's coming, but you don't know what! :-)
